Here I would like to introduce to you the sound of

Urban Chillies

The band started in summer 2003 with the intention to play spontaneous music.

Keyboard-player Anton Güntsch and Anuvida knew each other from former sessions as Jazz-trio as well as quartet and played a couple of gigs with Anuvida on drums and several guestmusicians on trumpet, flugelhorn, bass and guitar. Most of the repertoire was playing realbook-standards, the gigs we played  on parties or dinner-events.

In the summer of 2003 we tried out another concept or better non-concept of creating tunes in the moment they were played. Stephan Dahlem on bass, responsible for the groovy basics, accompanied by drummachine or live drumloops cooked by Anuvida. Anton playing the piano and synthesizer and, while the drumloops were running, Anuvida adding his style of rock guitar trying not to get lost in this brew.

We couldn´t really resist playing a couple of our old favorites like Duke Ellingtons " in a sentimental mood" or  Freddy Hubbards " Mr. Clean". But generally we tried to keep our first intention of playing spontaneous music in our own way.
